A camp from the sky, in the game
Great bandit camp
A round log palisade in a hollow, held by thirty Mountain Bandits and five Bandit Chiefs, then by the Bandit Warlord who falls from the sky. Anywhere in the Murim, dressed for its region.
The lair of a great band, much bigger than the Yellow River Bandit Den: a round palisade 85 blocks across with a ditch, in a hollow, the road coming in from the south over a log bridge. You don't walk in by chance: you besiege it or slip in.
Where
In any Murim biome, anywhere in the Murim: about one every 2 000 blocks, at least 48 chunks apart, on ground that varies by 10 blocks at most and out of the water. Find one with /locate structure murimblock:bandit_camp.
Dressed for its region
- Centre: spruce logs, thatch, hide tents
- North: dark oak logs with snow on the points, white tents, bandits mostly in wolf skins
- West: rammed earth walls, mud-brick dorms, sand; bandits mostly dune raiders
- South: bamboo palisade and dorms, moss
- East: spruce logs, grey tiles, a water-filled ditch
The thirty
Thirty Mountain Bandits at their posts: 4 lieutenants in purple sashes (at the great hall's door and by the fire), 4 on the watchtowers, 4 at the gate, 6 around the great fire, 4 at the training ring, 2 at the loot, 2 at the cages, 4 sentries on the walkway. They do not come back: a camp cleared stays empty.
The five chiefs
Over them, five Bandit Chiefs: two on either side of the empty seat in the great hall, one before it, one in the middle of the training ring and one in the gate. Their boss bars only show once they fight.
The count
Step inside the camp (its ditch) and a red bar at the top of the screen counts the garrison, Bandit Camp: 12 / 35 slain, filling at each death; it goes when you leave. Each of the 35 counts once, wherever he dies; wandering bandits do not count. When the last one falls the bar goes and The camp falls silent. Not one bandit is left standing.
Loot
A sites' cache barrel and a chest in the great hall, two chests at the loot: silver taels, gold, iron, silk, food, leather, emeralds, rarely a diamond; 12 % a Bandit Dao, 10 % the Long Fist Scroll.
The Bandit Warlord
When the last of the 35 falls, the war drum beats three times and the Bandit Warlord falls from the sky onto the camp's square like a meteor, in a cinematic for the players in the camp. Where he lands the camp becomes a crater for good, 24 blocks around and 10 deep, the buildings around it in ruins; chests and barrels are never broken. He comes once per camp.
The meteor in the sky
When the Warlord is beaten he becomes the Son of the Demon, and a meteor of black rock veined with lava is built in the sky over the camp: a bowl about 100 blocks across, its floor about 250 blocks up, ringed by walls some 40 blocks high. The last fight happens there. Anyone who falls off is brought back onto its floor, losing 6 health. When the Son of the Demon dies, the meteor rumbles, everyone and his loot are set down gently in the camp's crater, and the meteor crumbles away. He drops the Mountain-Shattering Fist Scroll.
