A master in a black lacquer half mask with a crow's beak and amber rings round the eyes, long white hair, a blue-black robe with feathered shoulders, an iron fan open before his chest and a shadow raven on his left shoulder. He keeps the Raven Messenger Art and leaves its scroll to whoever beats him.

Not the same man as the Crow Master of the Raven Tower, who sells the scroll: both are in the game.

Where he shows himself

• There is only one Raven Master in the world at a time; he wanders from one cultivator to the next.
• From the Qi Condensation realm, about every 10 minutes (7.5 to 12.5), if you are outdoors under the open sky in the Overworld, in survival or adventure, and the difficulty is not Peaceful.
• He appears 40 to 80 blocks away, in front of you, perched high: a treetop, a rock, a roof. He stands still, facing you, three ravens circling over him, with no boss bar.
• After 20 to 30 seconds, or if you come within 20 blocks without meeting his eyes, he flies off in a cloud of ravens.

Meeting his eyes

He is hostile, but he only attacks if you look him in the eyes (within 64 blocks, nothing between you), or if anyone strikes him, an arrow from afar included. Then he bursts into ravens on his perch and comes out of a door 2.5 to 5 blocks in front of you: You met the Raven Master's eyes.

His attacks

• The iron fan: the fan's four strikes in a chain, a backhand followed by a lunge, and a running lunge on anyone 3 to 6 blocks away.
• Shadow door: he sweeps the fan, steps through a door and comes out 2 blocks behind you, facing you. Every 6 to 10 s, above all when you keep more than 6 blocks away.
• Raven swarm: he points the fan and 5 ravens fly at you and peck you 4 times, following you slowly. A perfect parry scatters the swarm. Every 15 to 20 s, within 16 blocks and in sight.

Everything can be parried.

Second phase

Below half health, a cloud of ravens and You have looked long enough. Now the ravens will have your eyes. He fights 40 % faster, his doors and swarms come more often, and the swarm grows to 8 ravens. It lasts until he is whole again.

End of the encounter

If he loses sight of you for 10 seconds, if you flee beyond 48 blocks, die, or switch to creative or spectator: The Raven Master scatters into ravens. He is gone. He goes back to his wandering and shows himself again at the usual pace.

Rewards

Killed by a player: the Raven Messenger Art Scroll every time, 15 to 20 silver taels (more with Looting), 100 XP, and +40 Qi Max for your first victory. Nothing if he dies any other way. Once you have beaten him, he comes to you half as often (every 15 to 25 minutes).

The Raven Messenger Art cannot swallow him, like the other bosses.

Spawn egg, or /summon murimblock:raven_master. Placed this way he stays where he is, watches the nearest player, recovers 2 health per second, fights whoever meets his eyes and, the encounter over, goes back to watching.
