Craft: a gold ingot on top, then copper block, coal block, copper block, then a copper block in each bottom corner.

Refining

1. Water: a water bucket or bottle.
2. Herbs in the recipe's order, in three slots: Principal, Assistant, Harmonizer. An herb that does not go in now is refused.
3. Fire: coal or charcoal. Hold Fan (the bellows) to raise the heat; left alone, it sinks back.
4. Right-click with an empty hand for the screen. Its recipe book shows only the recipes you know; clicking one fills in the water and your purest herbs.
5. Three steps: Extract (hold the needle in the gold band), Stabilize (let it fall into a lower band), Refine (hold a narrow band while holding Qi, which drains your Qi).

The pills come out with their purity: 60 % from your herbs' purity, 40 % from your skill. One more pill at 80 % purity, and one more if an herb was at spirit maturity.

Overheating

Above 950 heat, everything burns to Pill Residue, with a burst of flame and a small explosion that hurts but breaks no block.
