In combat mode the item hotbar gives way to the combat bar: a round dantian in the middle, with five techniques on each side.

• The dantian holds the weapon in your hand and fills with blue like a vessel as your Qi rises and falls.
• Each slot shows its technique and its key, small at the bottom right. Number keys show as digits on every keyboard layout.
• A technique on cooldown darkens from the top, as much as is left, with its seconds over it.

• Keys 1–9 and 0 cast the techniques instead of switching items. Change weapon with the mouse wheel or by leaving combat mode.
• The experience bar is hidden: the dantian shows your Qi instead. Your real XP is untouched.
• When your only armour is the point your realm gives, no empty armour row is drawn.
• After a perfect parry, pulsing gold lines run above and below the bar, with the word Riposte on its right.
• With the Sanguine Art or the Purple Heaven Thunder Saber as your main style, its blood drops or thunder drums show on the left of the bar.
• While you hang at the top of the Crescent, its slot glows azure with the word Slam.
